Haven't you think how to pin folders to Start Menu? By pinning and item in Start menu, you can open a program easily and quickly. Unfortunately by default, Windows XP can't pinned folders to Start Menu, but you can enable this using some simple registry keys. Remember to backup the whole registry just in case something get weird.
Open Start->Run->(type) regedit
Now expand the keys accordingly...
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\ShellEx\ContextMenuHandlers\
Now create a new key named
{a2a9545d-a0c2-42b4-9708-a0b2badd77c8}
Finish. While holding Shift, right click on any icons and the option 'Pin to Start Menu' will shown. To remove this, just delete the key you make.
