4 RocketDock Tips and Tricks For New Users

Rocketdock is a cool docking software made by Punk Software. They claim it to be the greatest software made. Ever. I don't really agree but they do create a wonderful docking software. And with this few cool tricks, you can say Rocketdock maybe is the best software of its kind out there... P/s: The trick here is primarily for XP users only.

1.Accidental Aero Effects on XP

Wow. Is this real? Yep, but only on certain places. To do this, download Mac OSX Leopard themes for Rocketdock or any other themes which use transparent background by alpha blending. But the theme I say will definitely work. 

Now set RocketDock theme to Mac OSX Leopard and put it at the bottom screen. Set Rocketdock to always on top too. Now auto hide taskbar, then move our cursor to the bottom screen, if you lucky on the first time the taskbar will become transparent look a like or Aero like. Remember not to have any maximized window or it will not work. If not working, try it again and again... See the following screenshot.

2.Hide Taskbar On The Go Permanently

Now this is something that I see many people search for but did not look hard enough. How to hide taskbar Permanently. I also see that some can do this with a little registry tweaks but I don't recommend that as Rocketdock can't fully replace the taskbar. 

We can do this using a docklet called Hide Taskbar which in a single click, can hide taskbar PERMANENTLY and Return It back in a single click! The docklet will not run in background and the taskbar won't pop out if we minimize or close a window. But there is one problem, even if the taskbar is hidden, there are still some spaces where the taskbar used to be and it cannot be use. To solve this just:

• Set the Taskbar to Auto Hide.
• Now click  Hide Taskbar
• Try put your cursor down, it won't appear!
• And the space can be use freely as you want to!

Additional tips: Since Hide Taskbar is a an application, you can make a shortcut of it and put it in startup folder so that it will hide taskbar automatically on boot. Rocketdock will rule your desktop!!

3.Put Shutdown and Restart Shortcut on RocketDock

You can access Shutdown and Restart box by Alt+F4 or by the Start Menu. But if we put a shortcut of it on Rocket Dock, it will only take one click thus removing the need for taskbar for non keyboard fans and increase productivity. Just download this Restart,Shutdown and Lock Docklets for Rocketdock. And follow the instruction.

4.Use Stack Docklet To Remove Taskbar Necessity Even More

Have you want to hide your taskbar just to suddenly realize that there are some shortcuts you don't want to put on Rocketdock but still use often in the All Programs? Well with Stack Docklet, no more worries. Just create shortcut of all of your favorite programs, files and place it in a new folder. 

Then download Stack Docklet and follow the instruction. After that, set Stack Docklet to open the folder you just created, choose what type of view you want, Grid or Fans or Automatic, and done. Click it and the shortcut you put in the folder will appear in Gird or Fans view according to your settings.
